It is a story centered around William Wallace a common boy in Scotland who loses his father and brother in a war with England. For those assumingly few that haven't seen this movie let me give you a little background. Braveheart is a great depiction of how something like Class can separate and/or unite people. It wasn't until I started this class that I began looking at it in a completely different way. There isn't just one reason for that, its because of a variety of different things. Since then it has become one of my favorite movies. Since I first saw Braveheart when I was 11 I was hooked. These already wealthy high status men wanted to gain more lands, more titles, so they sold out to the English King. Another issue I found interesting in this film is how there were people who had no problem making alliances with the English so they could increase their wealth. They were taken advantage of for so long that finally they needed to do something about it. Its the classic David versus Goliath story, a few Scot's taking the huge armies of England on and winning. You feel like you are winning when the lower class is striking back against the upper class. This movie I think helps the mentality of the lower class. The wealthy upper class has always taken advantage of the lower class.

People feel like they need to separate themselves according to their possessions, or birthright.
